Sensitive Topics and NSFW Content
Our fantasy realm is a dark place, hence the title. Violence and horror are common themes in our game realm. Horrible, evil things can and do happen, and stories may have subject matter that some may find unpleasant, triggering, or disturbing. Our game is for adult players, we do not allow minors.
The Dark World may not be for you if certain subjects are triggering.
With that said, these two are off-limits topics. This means we do not want any of these situations played out or described in-game. Our world may be full of evil, but we are not. The first is any kind of sexualizing of children. Second, violence against children.
While we understand that these things can and do happen in such an evil place, they can be alluded to without ever describing it. We understand that these are sometimes part of a character’s back story or an event that triggered your character to action to help someone, etc. However, we don’t want these situations described. If your character sees an old woman beating on a child, you don’t need to describe it in detail. Just noting it is enough. Don’t EVER put child porn in our game. You will be immediately banned.
Sex is not an off-limits subject, however, this is not a porn RPG. We don’t need in-depth detail on the act of sex or sexual organs. As far as any kind of sexual scene between characters, discuss it with the other player/s beforehand. Find out what would be appropriate with them, and what wouldn’t be. Or, if you are both okay with the situation, wing it between yourselves. Nonconsensual situations can occur if that’s the player’s choice to do so, just don’t go too far. Think of our game like a rated 'R' movie, and while you can see 'a lot' in that sense, it is always best to fade to black when appropriate. Alluding to the act is always the preferred writing method. If it’s with an NPC, then it is okay to write NSFW scenes but fade to black in the end. All chapters or posts containing any kind of sexual situations should have an #NSFW tag listed in the tags or at the beginning of your post.
As far as any sensitive or triggering subjects, ask a GM or other players their opinions in Out of Character discussions.
