To make the game enjoyable for all to play, let alone functional, we need a set of rules. We do add new rules and regulations when/if they are needed. So read on adventurer! However, if you can't handle these rules we wish you luck in finding the game that suits your needs!
- Be respectful to all players. This is a safe community of creators, from all over the world and all walks of life. We are here to create and have fun together, and our community is open and welcoming to everyone regardless of race, religion, nationality, gender, identity, sexuality, etc. However, we will NOT tolerate racist, xenophobic, homophobic, sexist, and/or hateful speech and behavior toward any player or our community.
- Participate regularly. Once a week is ideal.
- No children or minor characters. Your character must be an adult (minimum maturity age of chosen race).
- Be as original with your characters as possible. No blantant plagiarism.
- All writings are to be in the third person perspective.
- All writings must be in English. This is not to say English has to be your first language!
- You control your character and their actions, reactions, etc. DO NOT control, make choices for, hurt, or kill another player's character without consent.
- Players can have 2 active characters. Additional characters may be considered based on activity/participation.
- Players can create NPCs. NPCs can be controlled by anyone. Learn more about NPCs in our How to Play section.
- No guns. We have #magic, it's cooler.
- You cannot use teleportation magic or any kind of ‘fast travel’ magic.
- No mythical pets or companions - unicorns, dragons, minotaur, griffins, etc.
- God-modding is acceptable to a degree. This is a game with magic, villains, and powerful individuals. It will happen from time to time – but don’t overdo it. If your post is deemed inappropriate and goes too far down the God-modding road, you may be asked to rewrite your posts. Don’t know what God-modding is? Read all about it #god-modding.
- This RPG is Rated R for violence, language, and adult content. Players must be 18 years old or older to join.
- Certain topics may be triggering, play at your own risk. That said, while our game world is quite dark, we are not. Describing violence towards, or sexualizing children is an absolute no and grounds for dismissal. Other sensitive subject matter can be deemed out of bounds at our digression. Discuss with GMs and fellow players before using any sensitive subject matter. Check out our How to Play section for more details.
- The GMs retain the right to control all game content and content creation. They can delete, modify, and add content as they see fit, at any time.
- You, the player, acknowledge that your participation is voluntary and that you may at any point discontinue your involvement with the DWRPG.
- If you break these agreements you understand that the GMs can remove you from the game with or without warning, and then feed your character to hungry trolls. You've been warned.
